Christmas Tree

After a lengthy break to concentrate on her family, work and life’s struggles, Dotty returned with a scorcher that thousands of parents would have related to for the build up to Christmas Eve

‘Twas the night before Christmas

And all through the house

The children weren’t sleeping despite the late hour,

Why can’t they sleep I have so much to do:

The turkey wants roasting

The presents aren’t wrapped

The potatoes need peeling …

A coffee I think or maybe a glass

To stop my eyes closing …

When all of a sudden a quiet and a hush

The kids are all sleeping – quick time to rush

Through the long list of things I must do

Before I close my eyes too

Single, alone I prepare and I pray

I can make magic happen

Just for one day.
